Employee Focus: Sales Team
An interview with the Plus Inc. Sales Team sheds light on what makes them so dedicated & why clients keep coming back.
Why do clients continue to choose Plus Inc.?
We take the time to get to know every client and develop strong relationships so that we can provide solutions specific to each unique situation. We adapt to our clients' needs, rather than trying to adapt the client to something that may not be just right for them. That is why we carry multiple manufacturers' products and why we take those relationships so seriously.
What is most fulfilling about your work?
Knowing that we provide our clients not only with an excellent product, but an excellent experience, as well, is very satisfying. In the process we each have the opportunity to make connections throughout the community, with great people and great organizations.
What makes Plus Inc. so unique?
The longevity of the company and the dedicated involvement of the owners, the diversity of our backgrounds, and the way we give our clients the highest quality, individualized service is what sets us apart. And we are not the only ones who think so. Our customers tell us every day.

Ransomware: A Growing Threat
Ransomware is a type of malware that prevents or limits users from accessing their system. This type of malware forces its victims to pay a ransom in order to regain access to their computers, or to get their data back. Some ransomware encrypts files (Cryptolocker), while others block communications (CTB Locker). It is estimated that these types of malicious program have procured an estimated $3 million and $18 million by June of 2015, respectively.
Ransomware is considered a "scareware" because it intimidates users into paying a ransom. The ransom prices vary, ranging anywhere from $24 to more than $600, sometimes requiring a bitcoin equivalent. However, sometimes the system lockdown is not restored even following payment. The first cases of ransomware infection were in Russia in 2005 and 2006, and the infection was limited to Russia for quite some time. However, the lucrativeness of the malware for its creators caused it to spread, and by 2012 it has made its way across Europe, Canada, and the US. By 2013, variants of ransomware were developed that encrypted files. In June of the same year, data was released showing that over 250,000 unique ransomware programs had been isolated from January to March, alone. These malware can be encountered through email and email attachments, or by visiting websites. Upon execution of the program, ransomware either shows a full-screen image or notification, or locks system files. Victims of this infection are given instructions on how to pay their ransom.
These ransomware programs are a very real and growing threat. If you encounter an infection, immediately disable system restore, and run a malware scan to detect and delete the files.
Our IT staff at Plus Inc. have experience both preventing and removing ransomware, and can help strengthen your defense and protect your critical business data from malicious attacks. Please contact us for more information regarding network and PC security.
Protecting Your Network and Your PC
There are a few key steps you can take to help protect yourself from the threat of Ransomware. The Plus Inc. IT department recommends that you:
- Do not open emails or attachments from unknown sources
- Use a firewall and antivirus software
- Back up your data.
These precautions can not only protect your system, but-should an infection ever arise- greatly increase the chances of recovering your data. If you have any questions or you're just not sure that you are sufficiently protected by a firewall, antivirus, or your data is backed up, please contact us.
