Employee Focus

Got color? If you have a color copier, then you may have met our Graphics Color Specialist, Barbara Dickson. Barbara has been a member of the Plus Team for the past 8 years and is a great asset to both our customers and our service and sales support teams. She started servicing copiers in 1989 after earning a Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering Technologies from Piedmont Technical College.

Barbara services both our Ricoh line and our Konica Minolta line of digital imaging devices and enjoys the challenges of keeping up with the new models and new technology. She wants all of our customers and prospective customers to know that we carry both lines and that "these are the best lines on the market!"  Barbara is proud of the Plus Inc. service team and explains, "The best   selling points for Plus Inc are our service team's quick response to our customers and our on-site parts warehouse with the most commonly used parts readily available."

Barbara's technical know-how extends beyond copiers. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 39 years. She has 2 wonderful children and 3 beautiful and awesome grandchildren. She loves to read, go fishing, and camping.

Plus In the Community

This month we are happy to highlight Upstate Family Resource Center. They are a non-profit organization that is focused on supporting and strengthening families in the Boiling Springs and Chesnee communities through assistance and educational programs.  Their mission is to help families thrive by providing educational opportunities, engaging activities, and support services to achieve a healthier and more prosperous community.

Family resource centers are a key prevention strategy for addressing many of the challenges that face families, whether they live in rural, suburban or urban areas.  To improve outcomes for both families and communities, a family resource center brings together services and activities that educate, develop skills and promote moving in new directions for families.

The Upstate Family Resource Center is located at 1850 Old Furnace Road in Boiling Springs, SC. Operations are housed in a historic school building which, until January 2007, served as the Boiling Springs Middle School campus for Spartanburg County District Two. The UFRC serves the Spartanburg County School District Two attendance area which is located in northern Spartanburg County. This area encompasses the unincorporated suburban Boiling Springs community, the rural town of Chesnee, as well as Mayo, Cooley Springs and Fingerville. Citizens in our community cannot always drive the 15 miles to the City of Spartanburg for assistance. District Two serves 9,565 students and has a population base of more than 46,000. Over 44% of our students participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch program which is a notable sign of need. This is the only resource of its kind in the district and Northern Spartanburg County.

For more information about Upstate Family Resource center and how you can help. Please call (864) 578-6013 or go to their   website at www.upstatefrc.org.
