Jessica Varner


 

This month we are proud to highlight Jessica Varner. Jessica Varner joined the Plus Inc. team  early in 2012 and has become a great asset to the company.  She is a sales team favorite because, among her plethora of duties, she has taken on the important task of making sure that our hardworking sales team have their daily coffee fix! (and we love her for that!)

 

Getting to know Jessica Varner--In Her Own Words:

 

As one of the administrative assistants, I work primarily with Accounts Receivable, processing payments and weekly statements and communicating with customers regarding their accounts.  I compile daily sales reports and the monthly sales tax reports,  as well as assist with answering phone calls and taking supply orders and service calls.  I'm also responsible for billing & collecting the payments for the monthly lease invoices for Piedmont Leasing.

 

My favorite thing about working at Plus Inc. is being around a great group of people every day.  All of them are hardworking and genuinely care about our customers.  One of my favorite people at PLUS, Lindsay,  is leaving us to be able to spend more time with her precious baby boy. I completely understand and support her decision but I will miss her greatly and I know everyone else here at PLUS will agree with me!   

 

I am very passionate about my family and friends.  I have been blessed with a wonderful family and a great group of friends that I have known since school.  I have two wonderful kids (Taylor, 8 and Liam, 2), and they keep me busy from the moment I get home until it's time to leave in the mornings.  If I had time for a  hobby, it would be reading and crafts.  I also love to take pictures and create scrapbooks and photo albums.   

 

Eventually, I will work up the nerve to get on a plane so Cody and I can take a trip somewhere overseas like Ireland or Greece.

 

 This is my favorite time of the year.  I love Thanksgiving and Christmas and being able to spend extra time with the family and friends.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

Annually Loaves & Fishes, with the help of more than 300 volunteers, local companies, organizations, churches and individuals, coordinates turkey and canned food giveaway to our partner agencies. Those partners then feed those in need a holiday meal or provide canned foods to feed them beyond Thanksgiving day.

Thanksgiving brings a special effort from Loaves & Fishes to provide much need turkeys for the holiday as well as canned foods for Thanksgiving and well into the winter months. In 2013, Loaves & Fishes distributed over 700 frozen turkeys and over 30,000 pounds of canned food items to 31 agencies that provide food for the Thanksgiving holiday and throughout the year. Would you like to help?

There are several ways an organization can get involved:
  • Coordinate a food drive of boxed mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce or green beans, corn or other canned items (single serving cans); Click here for the canned food drive guidelines.
  • Host a Turkey Drive (turkeys must be between 11-13 pounds)
  • Make a monetary donation  -- any amount can help!
  • Volunteers can help distribute turkeys and canned goods.  Click here for the volunteer flyer.
Chuck FM and X98.5 are hosting their annual November Food Drive for Loaves & Fishes November 1st through Thanksgiving. Donation drop off locations will be announced soon!
