We join you in remembering those whose lives were taken.

As we take time to reflect on the 13th Anniversary of a day none of us will ever forget, let us come together to grieve, to remember, to express our gratitude to those who demonstrated what it is to be a hero, and to pledge ourselves to live in honor of their bravery.

Employee FocusFrank Gonzalez This month we feature our Sales Manager, Frank Gonzalez. Frank joined the Plus team in 1997 as the computer division manager and eventually stepped into his current sales management role when long time Plus employee Bruce Hoffmaster retired in 2007. No matter the title, Frank always strives to make Plus Inc an enjoyable & productive work environment while providing clients with solutions that help make their work environments productive and hopefully a little more enjoyable too. His office technology experience spans almost 30 years. Over that span he has witnessed the evolution from analog stand-alone copiers of the 80's to the digital multifunctional copiers of today. He is both amazed and pleased with the progression of the technology. As an example, today's models allow each system to be customized by adding Apps to meet each client's individual needs much the same way as a smartphone. However, he's not so sure he is looking forward to any future models that talk back to you like today's smartphones. Whenever possible, Frank enjoys spending vacation time in the mountains or at the beach with his wife Michelle and their two daughters. His current favorite after-work activity is bowling with coworkers. He also enjoys discovering new food items to put on his backyard grill. Currently his short list of things to try on his grill is avocado, oysters, and octopus.

Plus In the Community
Community in Schools
This month we are happy to Spotlight Communities in Schools in Greenville, SC. For more than 30 years, Communities In Schools has been helping students achieve in school, graduate and go on to bright futures. Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. The story of Communities In Schools began in the 1970s, when Founder Bill Milliken, then a youth advocate in New York City, came up with the idea of bringing community resources inside public schools - where they are accessible, coordinated and accountable. "It's relationships, not programs, that change children," Bill once said. "A great program simply creates the environment for healthy relationships to form between adults and children. Young people thrive when adults care about them on a one-to-one level, and when they also have a sense of belonging to a caring community."
And that's exactly what Communities In Schools does. Today, we are the nation's largest and most effective organization dedicated to keeping kids in school and helping them succeed in life. Our unique model positions site coordinators inside schools to assess students' needs and provide resources to help them succeed in the classroom and in life. We partner with local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers and volunteers. Whether it's food, school supplies, health care, counseling, academic assistance or a positive role model, Communities In Schools is there to help. For more information about Communities in Schools and ways you can help. You can visit their website at www.cisgreenville.org or call (864) 250-6737 and be sure to like their Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/CISGreenville
