Employee Focus:
Jessica Varner--Administrative Staff
Earlier this year, Jessica Varner joined the Plus Inc. team and has quickly become a great asset to the company.  She is a sales team favorite because, among her plethora of duties, she has taken on the important task of making sure that our hardworking sales team have their daily coffee fix! (and we love her for that!)

Getting to know Jessica Varner--In Her Own Words:

As one of the administrative assistants, I work primarily with Accounts Receivable, processing payments and weekly statements and communicating with customers regarding their accounts.  I compile daily sales reports, as well as assist with answering phone calls and taking supply orders and service calls.

My favorite thing about working at Plus Inc. is being around a great group of people every day.  All of them are hard working and genuinely care about our customers.

I am very passionate about my family and friends.  I have been blessed with a wonderful family and a great group of friends that I have known since school.  I have two wonderful kids (Taylor, 6 and Liam, 8 months), and they keep me busy from the moment I get home until it's time to leave in the mornings.  If I had time for a hobby, it would be reading and crafts.  I also love to take pictures and create scrapbooks and photo albums.

My favorite events have been the birth of my children, and the most recent event would be getting married on September 22, 2012.  Cody is a wonderful husband and father, and I couldn't ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with.
 Wedding
In 2010, I went back to school for an associate's degree in administrative office technology, and I hope to graduate within the next year.  With my schedule, I had to take it slow with the classes since I work full time and had a baby earlier this year.  Eventually, I will work up the nerve to get on a plane so Cody and I can take a trip somewhere overseas like Italy or Greece.

This is my favorite time of the year.  I love Thanksgiving and Christmas and being able to spend extra time with the family and friends.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

Junior Achievement
Local business leaders take JA entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy programs into the classroom.

For as little as 30 minutes per week for five weeks or for one full morning, volunteers can prepare the next generation to succeed.  Volunteers choose location, age level, school. program, and time, and receive training and all materials from Program Director Lynda Apple.

Business professionals, parents, retirees and college students help Upstate students develop the skills they need to succeed in a competitive economy.  Using their personal experiencJunior Achievementes in combination with JA's innovative, age-appropriate programs, these volunteers teach young people from kindergarten through 12th grade about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.  Fifth-graders learn about STEM and how knowledge of technology and manufacturing can lead to a high-demand, high-growth job.  Eighth-graders explore their career options and how to manage their personal finances in JA's Economics for Success (TM).  High school students learn the basics of running a business through Junior Achievement's Interactive business simulation program, JA Titan

For more information on all of the programs available and how to get started, call JA staff by phone at 864-244-4017 or visit their website, www.jaupstatesc.org.

Yep....there's an app for that!

With more and more people using smartphones, tablets and iPads, we are getting more requests from our customers to be able to print from those devices.  We are happy to report that there are apps for both the Ricoh  as well as the Konica Minolta machines that allow you to print from your handheld device.

Contact us to talk with someone in our Professional Services department to see if your machine is eligible and what app to install.  We are here to help!
Thank you for your business for the past 54 years.  From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

David Carson
