Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation has prepared a paper to describe the history and environmental concerns of fracking. As the public's voice LPBF prides itself on basing informatioin on sound science.

Moseley to do Solo Swim across the lake  
   
Matt Moseley will attempt a solo swim crossing of Lake Pontchartrain to commemorate LPBF's 25th anniversary.   The swim will begin on June 10 on the north shore and end on June 11 at the New Canal Lighthouse.

Friday and Saturday, June 27th and 28th is LPBF's 17th Annual Save Our Lake & Coast Fishing Rodeo, another great LPBF event. You can fish anywhere in the basin! The weigh station is at the New Canal Lighthouse (8001 Lakeshore Drive) from 2-5pm Friday and noon to 4pm Saturday.  After-party begins at 4:00 pm Saturday with awards, great food and drink, kids activities, entertainment, door prizes and awards for the winners! Don Dubuc, host of "Outdoors with Don Dubuc" and WWL-TV's "Fish and Game Report" is our honorary chair and Master of Ceremonies.
