Lighthouse Grand Opening Coming!
The New Canal Lighthouse opens to the public with a Preview Party at the site Thursday, April 18th. It will be followed on Friday with a ribbon-cutting event. The lighthouse will be open to the public for museum tours Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for a small fee. Lighthouse history, environmental presentations and tours will be offered by appointment on Mondays-Wednesdays. Email joann@saveourlake.org to schedule a presentation. |

Lighthouse Museum Volunteer ClassLPBF will be holding one of two training classes on February 26th for adults interested in becoming a lighthouse volunteer (also called "docent"). The second class for the docents will be in March. Docents will be asked to donate one four hour shift every two weeks to assist at the lighthouse leading tours, giving out info, taking admission and helping in the gift shop.
