Client Quotes
"The customer service from EWN has been outstanding! It's nice to know the phone will be answered in only a couple of rings and my issues will be addressed in professional caring manner."

-Eric Allen
Colorado Natural Gas/ Summit Utilities
"I have never dealt with a company that is more customer oriented than ENERGY worldnet. They made a seemingly daunting OQ transition easier than we could have ever imagined.

Then, as we were faced with a  challenging deadline of newly instated OSHA guidelines, Geoff Isbell was right there to walk us though the process and was able to get us compliant in an amazingly short amount of time.

We recommend ENERGY worldnet to any company looking for an OQ or OSHA qualification provider."

Buffalo Bill and His Shoshone Oil Company

William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody's legacy extends beyond his popular wild west show. A Wyoming town and museum named for him preserve his Big Horn Basin heritage. Lesser known is his brief exploration into the oil business.

Buffalo Bill Cody was a tireless promoter of the frontier town he helped found in 1896 that bears his name, Cody, Wyoming.

Perhaps inspired by the 1901 oil gusher on Spindletop Hill near Beaumont, Texas, which would lead to hundreds of new oil companies, Buffalo Bill began searching for oil near Cody. He and several partners, including Wyoming congressman Rep. Frank Mondell, formed the Cody Oil Company in October 1902.

Although Cody Oil and another venture he formed six years later, Shoshone Oil Company, failed to find oil, "It would be hard to imagine the history of Wyoming around the turn of the twentieth century without Buffalo Bill," notes one historian.

July 27, 1918 - Launch of First Concrete Oil Tanker

World War II led to the construction of larger concrete oil tankers. The Socony,  America's first concrete vessel, became the first of this kind designed to carry oil. Socony made its first launch in 1918.

Natural Gas - The Alternative Fuel Solution

Across the United States, corporations are making the switch to natural gas vehicles (NGVs) because of the great benefits that natural gas provides to their company. According to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE),  there is a bountiful supply of natural gas which can be used to offset imported petroleum used in transportation.

NGVs are more resource-efficient than a gasoline or diesel vehicle. Standard vehicles produce larger amounts of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, and oxides of nitrogen. However, NGVs produce a minimal amount of emissions.

Food service distributor  Testa Produce, Inc. of Chicago recently added 10 NGVs to their delivery service. In addition, this purchase was a smart investment. Biodiesel vehicles require fuel costs up to $4.89 per gallon. The new trucks run on fuel with costs of $2.60 per gallon. Peter Testa, President of Testa Produce states that, "powering trucks with clean, renewable domestic compressed natural gas is an alternative-fuel solution" for their company. He goes on to say that as a transportation based business, they are demonstrating that they can operate in much more sustainable ways.

Penske Truck Leasing is also using heavy-duty NGVs. The company purchased 100 natural gas tractors that will be used by their customers across the United States. Penske estimates that they will have over 200 natural gas tractors by the end of the year.

The usage of these vehicles is rapidly growing each day. When a corporation makes a decision to use natural energy, it brings our nation one step closer to a healthier and safer environment.
