This Sunday Is Mimosa Sunday!
Join the Fun!!
We open at noon and the first of these little every-Sunday celebrations begins at about 1:30. If Mimosas aren't your thing, they'll be lots of other goodies around! Along with lots of fiber and knitting fun.
That's why at the first Mimosa Sunday, we'll be making Christmas tree ornaments. They utilize leftover yarns and were inspired by Chris Bylsma's Deliberate Drops class that Sandra took about a decade ago. Of course your ornament doesn't have to be as silly as this guy. It's the technique that is important and fun!
These ornaments are self-fringing and you can make a million variations.
You need Sandra's pattern and only about 50 yards of leftover, good quality yarn (they're no fun in cheap acrylic, but are a hoot with a bit of glitter). Any yarn will do except super-bulky yarn. Bring in the yarns and appropriate needles (single point or circs).
Also pictured is a plain one -- Sandra calls it Fishy (it's ready for embellishing if you like). By the way, the metallic, the hairy one is Mitzi Glitzy. Cost: $10 -- including free Mimosas!

Life Is Exciting
At Artisan Knitworks
(If You're Over 3 Years Old, That Is!)
Meet Lainey -- who stopped into visit the shop on Monday while her dad got a haircut next door. Lainey, who goes by the nickname Bug, simply zonked out as Larry was holding her. She slept for well over half an hour while yarn shopping took place.
Bug was an absolute delight. Remember kids are always welcome at Artisan Knitworks. And Larry, not surprisingly, relates well with them!
Now on to the next few days of fun, Champagne and fiber!

It's THIS Thursday. Come on in and join the sock fun with Lynne Wardrop. Lynne is a highly skilled and enthusiastic advocate for the craft of sock making.
Lynne taught the very successful and very popular "Siamese Socks" at this year's Third Coast Fiber Arts Festival. She can help you whether you use straights or circular needles, consider yourself an advanced knitter of socks or are just getting into them!
Normally, the group fee is $10 per session. However, we ask everyone to attend this "premier meeting" as our guest. If you have questions or would like to tell us that you're coming, just stop in the shop or give us a call.
