 Workshops Provide Fun and Information
Valley Oak Children's Services hosted a free workshop in Oroville about recycling with kids. During the workshop parents and child care providers learned several different ways to reuse and/or recycle some common household items. They were provided with instructional handouts, and got to participate in hands-on projects involving recycling and planting. At the end of the workshop they were able to take home several projects as examples for future projects on their own. Some of the items used in the recycling projects included: old phone books, newspapers, egg cartons, milk jugs, condiment containers, various detergent bottles, old hanging shoe organizers, and even an old pallet!
Valley Oak Children's Services provides several free workshops each month for parents, child care providers, and community members in Butte County. Call for a calendar of events at 530-895-3572, or find it on the our website. |
  Got The Back-to-School Jitters?
Going from long, lazy summer days back to the rigors of a classroom can be a bumpy road for your child. It's normal for her to experience a range of emotions about returning to school. Though each child responds to going back to school differently, you can take steps to address jitters and make the transition time smoother. Try these solutions if your child is dreading returning to the classroom.
