Seriously, this is the perfect time of the year to plant. Remember that your fall bulbs need to go in, but it is also the time many experienced gardeners will plant their trees, shrubs, roses and even perennials. Why? In our mild climate, many roots continue to grow almost all winter.  By spring, plants are well established, having been watered through the winter by our plentiful rain and are just waiting for the warmer ground and longer days to begin their top growth, aided by a healthy root system that's providing lot's of natures nutrients from the soil.  Its a perfect time to buy too, with many nurseries holding their year end sales events and closeouts.
