Dear We're now almost a full month into 2013, and if you're anything like us, you're asking: where is this year going already? It seems like we just packed up the holiday decorations, and already there are ads for spring clothes.
When things start to move more quickly, it's a great time to simplify. Go back to basics. That's why our article this month addresses a basic question...how do pressure ulcers affect mortality? We've only linked to the abstract (the original article is in Czech), but there are some valuable insights to be had. We try to bring you these articles as a way to cut through the clutter of seemingly endless papers and research, delivering you just the essential information to save you time.
Another great way to save time is with the Heelift
® Suspension Boot. It's ready to use right out of the bag, but can also quickly and easily be customized to meet any patient's needs.
We'd also like to remind you that the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel will hold its Biennial Conference in The Woodlands, TX (just outside Houston) on February 22-23.
The conference brochure will give you all the information you need to register. As we've said in the past, they're a vital organization to our community, and we'd like to see as many clinicians there as possible.
Finally, we're working on something new. We don't want to give away the details, but if you can't make it to the NPUAP conference, be sure to check out a sneak peek in the February issue of
Ostomy Wound Management.
As always, we welcome your feedback via e-mail. Contact me at
