Parents:
When dropping students off in the morning or picking up in the afternoon, please use the driveway in front of school.  Please do not drop off and pick up in the student or faculty parking lots.  This causes a danger to our student drivers and staff and congests our traffic pattern.  Also please be aware of students and staff crossing the driveway and those directing traffic. Student safety is most important to us.  Thanks in advance for your assistance with these very busy times of the day.

TEAM UPDATES

BASS FISHING TEAM
The SK bass fishing team has started and is learning. The team fished one  tournament at Kentucky Lake with the top boat finishing 19th out of 117 boats.

The team is looking for local lakes and farm ponds that you would grant permission to fish for practice and tournament seeding.  All fishing would be catch and release. The team is willing to earn permission through conservation activities or acts of stewardship. All students are covered by Student Angler Insurance and family insurance and will be supervised by coaches.

In addition to looking for practice ponds and lakes, the team is also looking for bass boat sponsors. The boats are not to be captained by the student anglers, but by the owner or other participant willing to complete a free
background check through the Kenton County School District.  Boats are needed for local lake and river practice fishing and all day state tournaments.
The boat must be currently registered, at least 16 ft. in length and have an aerated live well capable of holding 5 fish. Boat sponsors may not fish during competition.  If it were a local event, such as practice or team only event, the boat sponsor may participate in fishing.

This is a great opportunity to spend some time on the water and be an active member of the SK community.   If you are interested, contact  Matt Archer 960-0105,  Adam Klaine 960 -0285 or Brad Walker at 960-0201.

Miami University Summer Scholars Program
Session I: July 3 - July 15, 2016
Session II: July 17 - July 29, 2016

Miami's Summer Scholars Program provides a rich, early college experience for academically-talented rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. Students will join an engaged community of learners for an intense, two-week program on Miami's campus exploring a topic of their choice with an acclaimed Miami faculty member. Participants who later choose to apply to Miami will also receive priority consideration for Miami merit scholarships and the University's premier academic programs.

The University is pleased to offer a limited number of full scholarships for the Summer Scholars Program to academically-talented students with financial need who apply and are accepted to the program.

As part of the application process, counselors will need to submit the following materials online. All application materials must be received by May 1, 2016.

If you have any questions, please email summerscholars@MiamiOH.edu or contact Lindsey Holden at lindsey.holden@MiamiOH.edu or 513-529-2556.
