SIMON SAYS
E-Newsletter of Simon Kenton High School

PARENTS . . . This message is to alert you that the NKY Health Department has reported over 100 cases of confirmed pertussis, also known as whooping cough, in the NKY community.  A majority of the cases are being seen in school-aged children.

The early cold-like symptoms of Pertussis progress to a persistent cough that won't go away and worsens with time. There is a risk of severe illness in children who are not properly immunized and those too young to complete the vaccine series.  We ask that you be on the alert to detect the early symptoms of the disease and see your healthcare provider for concerns.
