An up-to-date physical is required.

TRACK & FIELD

On Friday 5/1 the SK men's team won their 5th consecutive championship at the Cooper JV Championships.  The boys were led by Kyle Mastin, Harrison Kitchen, Ethan Chaney, Ty Carter, Sam Hold, Tanner Mueller, Jacob Book, Jordan Butler and Davay Alexander. 

The women's team finished 3rd overall.  Top performers were Sarah Sandfoss, Erin Lowe, Kam Powell, Anna Cully, Carson Elliott, Morgan Daniels and Sydney McClurg.
 

On Monday 5/4, the SK freshman men's team finished as the NKAC regional runner-up.  They were led by Noah Turner, Sam Holt, Tanner Mueller, Ty Carter, Harrison Kitchen, Ethan Chaney and Kyle Masting.

The women's team finished a very close 5th place overall.  Top performers were Kam Powell, Maddy Finnell, Anja Arlinghaus and Alyssa Moreland.

On Tuesday 5/5, the SK women's team finished 2nd overall at the Highlands Red Dog Gold Medal Meet.  The men's team finished 3rd.  
  1. Women's 4x800 relay keep re-setting their own record every week; Anja Arlinghaus, Sophia Delisio, Mackenzie Lachmann and Meredith Hiles.
  2. Men's 4x100 Relay, Logan Winkler, Adam Myers, Dillon Powell, & Dylan Hampton, with a time of 44.50 breaking the old record which stood since 2000.
  3. Men's High Jump - Logan Winkler tied the school record with a jump of 6'6".

KBEA COMPETITION    Nathan Bishop entered the KBEA (KY Business Education Association) Keyboarding Contest and won.  He keyed 116 words per minute.  There were 61 entries from 15 schools throughout Kentucky.  Nathan won a $50 iTunes gift card for his category and  a $25 iTunes gift card for being the overall winner.  He is also invited to Louisville July 22 to accept his award at the CTE (Career and Technical Education) Conference.


Congratulations to the SK Concert and Symphonic Bands!  Friday night they competed in the Music in the Parks Concert Festival at Loveland High School. The Symphonic Band finished first in their class with the Concert Band coming in second.  The Symphonic Band also won Best Overall High School Band for the competition.  Great job, SK Bands!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES  Piner Elementary School is requesting students to participate in creating a garden. Students are needed on the following dates:  
5/12 and 5/26 from 3:45 to 4:45. If you are interested in participating, stop by the guidance office to sign up.
 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES   Piner Elementary is in the process of planning the Summer Learning Program and needs volunteers from SK who may be interested in helping out for volunteers hours or a college resume boost.  The dates are every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from June 9 - July 2 from 9 AM - Noon. See Mrs. Back in the counseling office if you are interested in volunteering.
