REGIONAL YOUTH
LEADERSHIP
OPPORTUNITY

For the past 20 year, the Regional Youth Leadership program has provided an opportunity for high school juniors in our region to develop leadership skills.  It is an 8-month program that includes monthly sessions and exposes students to the issues and challenges facing the greater metropolitan area by using the community as a classroom.

DISTRICT BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
The boys and girls 32nd District basketball tournament
will be played at Walton-Verona this week.
The girls play 2/24 @ 6 PM and 2/27 @ 7 PM.
The boys play 2/25 @ 7 PM and 2/28 @ 7 PM.

THE FOLLOWING CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO THE CURRENT 2013-14 SCHOOL CALENDAR PENDING BOARD APPROVAL . . .

March 21 and April 21 will be used for snow makeup days.  We WILL be in school on March 21 and April 21, pending board approval. 

The tentative last day of school for students is May 30. The tentative last day for teachers is June 2.

SCHEDULING FOR 2014-15 CLASSES will take place
March 3 - 14 through the Infinite Campus Portal.
In preparation for scheduling, please ensure you can successfully log onto the Infinite Campus portal.

The username is the student number, which can be located at
the top of class schedules. If this is the first time using the system, the student password is the first initial of the student's first and last name, then the six-digit birthday.

John Smith, DOB: February 6, 1998 would be

UK SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES
The UK Area Health Education Center offers two residential camps for current high school students.  The 4-week summer enrichment program is open to rising junior (current sophomores) only and the health researchers academy is open to current juniors.

DIVERSITY CLUB  This month the Diversity Club's goal is to help students understand the tradition and culture that makes SK a unique and great school.  

 

FIRST PRIORITY (formerly "FISH") meets every Thursday after school in the chorus room from 2:45-3:30 PM.  

  

GUITAR CLUB  Guitar Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 2:45-3:30 PM.   

 

JAM-C CLUB   Jam-C meets in Room 209 the 1st & 4th Thursdays of the month. 

 

PIONEER PRIDE  There will be a pep rally on Friday, March 7.
 

TLC (Teen Leadership Club)

AMERICAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION
The winner of the AMC 12 for juniors/seniors was Troy Sterling. There was a 3-way tie for 2nd: Tristan Feinauer, Derek Menefee and Zack Horn

The winner of the AMC 10 for freshmen/sophomores was Mitchell Grothaus. Leila Gosto was 2nd and Michael Benge was 3rd.

Our overall team score was the highest in the district. Great job to all students who competed!
