REGIONAL YOUTH
LEADERSHIP
OPPORTUNITY

For the past 20 year, the Regional Youth Leadership program has provided an opportunity for high school juniors in our region to develop leadership skills.  It is an 8-month program that includes monthly sessions and exposes students to the issues and challenges facing the greater metropolitan area by using the community as a classroom.

FRESHMAN ORIENTATION PARENT NIGHT
February 27 from 7 - 8 PM
This is an informal meeting for parents of incoming
freshmen for the school year 2014-15.
  
8th graders will visit SK during the school day on either 
Tuesday, 2/25 or Wednesday, 2/26.  Students will receive a blue
folder with informational handouts when they visit SK. 

Please bring the folder with you to the parent meeting.

March 3 - 14 through the Infinite Campus Portal. 
In preparation for scheduling, please ensure you can successfully
log onto the Infinite Campus portal.

DIVERSITY CLUB  This month the Diversity Club's goal is to help students understand the tradition and culture that makes SK a unique and great school.  

 

FIRST PRIORITY (formerly "FISH") meets every Thursday after school in the chorus room from 2:45-3:30 PM.  

  

GUITAR CLUB  Guitar Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 2:45-3:30 PM.   

 

JAM-C CLUB   Jam-C meets in Room 209 the 1st & 4th Thursdays of the month. 
 

STUDENT COUNCIL  Freshman and Sophomore Student Council will meet on Wednesday, February 19 in Room 207 to plan the

Freshman/Sophomore Dance (March 28).

TLC   TLC meets every Thursday after school in Room 311 until 3:30 PM.

BOWLING UPDATE
Senior CASEY MANGOLD will represent SK at the State Tournament on Thursday, February 13 at Eastland Lanes in Lexington.  He was the Region 5 Singles Champion, bowling a 278 to claim the victory.
  
The boys and girls teams lost in the Quarterfinals at Bellwood Lanes.  
WRESTLING UPDATE
The wrestling team placed 10th at the Kentucky State Duals.  In the 3-team pool action, SK upset 8th-ranked Fern Creek, then lost to the #2 seed Henry Clay in a tight match.  SK finished 3rd in the pool on a 3-way tiebreaker.
