MAPS TESTING . . . 
All 9th and 10th graders will be MAP testing in reading and math in December.

The tentative semester exam schedule is:

Thursday, December 19 - 2nd & 5th

LAST DAY TO DONATE TO THE GIRLS' BASKETBALL
TOY COLLECTION IS WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11 . . .
 
The girls basketball team will be assisting Grant Co. Middle & High Schools with a fundraiser to collect toys for patients at Children's Hospital who cannot come home for the holidays.

The team will collect until Wednesday, December 11.  Toys must be new and unwrapped.  Toys can be for any age -- male or female. 
Drop donations to Ms. Wendeln in Room 129 or in the main office.

GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS (GSA)

Kentucky High School Sophomores and Juniors: Governor's School for the ARTS is now accepting application through December 31.


Students can apply on-line or download an application from

ARTSHOPS
 
Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) is holding statewide ArtShops for high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors throughout Kentucky.


ArtShops are designed to give students the opportunity to participate in a hands on workshop in their chosen art form. Students who are interested in applying to the GSA summer program are highly encouraged to attend an ArtShop to better prepare then for the audition/review process in March. Please see website:

GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

This program annually awards roughly 20 college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships.  For more information:  www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships

On Monday, December 2  the SK middle school girls came in 1st place, SK middle school boys came in 6th place and SK came in 2nd overall.
 

On Tuesday, December 3 the whole team participated in the December Invite and the SK girls came in 1st place. The SK boys came in 5th place and SK came in 2nd place overall.

BOOK CLUB    Are you a reader?  Join the Kentucky Bluegrass Awards Book Club and read/discuss some great young adult books with other students.  See Mrs. Moore for more information or check this link.
  
BOWLING TEAM  Practices are Mondays from 6-8 PM and matches on Thursdays from 3:15-6 PM.
 

BRIDGE CLUB   The "Bridge" is a club at SK devoted to bridging the gap between our friends with disabilities and YOU!  Please come and learn about how to get involved with Bridge. DIVERSITY CLUB  This month the Diversity Club's goal is to help students understand the tradition and culture that makes SK a unique and great school.  

 

FIRST PRIORITY (formerly "FISH") meets every Thursday after school in the chorus room from 2:45-3:30 PM.  

  

GIRLS TENNIS  Girls' tennis conditioning will begin on Tuesday, January
7 and will be every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4 PM.  Girls need to meet in Room 241 after school.

 

GUITAR CLUB  Guitar Club meets on the last Wednesday of the month from 2:45-3:30 PM.   

 

JAM-C CLUB   Jam-C meets in Room 209 the 1st & 4th Thursdays of the month. 

PIONEER PRIDE
  Pioneer Pride meets in Room 207.  Watch for dates.

 

TEEN LEADERSHIP CLUB  TLC meets every Thursday after school in Room 311 until 3:30 PM.
