Voluntary Tutoring Available during SKORE . . .Tutoring is available during SKORE in math, science, social studies, English and business.  Parents or students must sign up in order for students to attend tutoring.  Visit the Simon Kenton webpage to sign up.

 
Be Engaged . . . Get Involved!
Junior Class Student Council . . . is selling Candygrams during lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Each Candygram is $1 and proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House charity.  Candygrams will be delivered during SKORE on Friday.  For each one you purchase, your name will go into a drawing for McDonald's gift cards.
 
FFA Needs Your Help . . .
The SK FFA Alumni Chapter is looking for members.  Come join the chapter and help support the SK FFA members.  Each year the group provided scholarships for deserving students.  You don't have to be a former FFA student to join!  Meetings are held at the Durr Extension Office.  Meeting dates:  April 9, July 9, September 10, October 8 and December 10.  Contact becky.darnell@kenton.kyschools.us or call her at 835.1819.

Flying Pig / Redlegs Challenge
Be a part of the Flying Pig/Redlegs Challenge!

Come to a meeting on Tuesday, February 26 in Room 192 after school for details.


We are looking to beat other schools in the Cincinnati area by having the most students running or walking  5k (3 miles).
All fitness levels are welcome and encouraged to participate in this fun activity.


Students may choose either or both the Flying Pig 5k or the Redlegs 5k race.
See Mrs. Steiner or Ms. Hoerlein with questions.

Proud of Our Pioneers

Kierra Rump was the America Legion Post (275 Moon Brothers) entry into the National Oratorical Contest.  She won the district level and is now advancing to the regional contest.

 

Jared Bowling, senior at SK, has been named a finalist for the National Football Foundation's Brian Williams "That's My Boy" Award, the most prestigious award for which a student-athlete in the Tri-State can be nominated. Players are nominated by their coaches and selection takes into account academic performance and extracurricular activities, as well as football talent. Jared will attend a banquet on February 28 where the winners will be announced.

OWEN ELECTRIC YOUTH TOUR

The Washington Youth Tour is an annual week-long event June 14-21 during which 1000 high school juniors from across the country learn about government, cooperatives and electrication.  For more information, log on to http://owenelectric.com/content/youth-tour.  Deadline for applications is March 8.  For more information, contact wduvall@ownelectric.com

 

ANTHONY MUNOZ FOUNDATION AWARD

Do you know a high school student who is pursuing academic excellence, athletic achievement and an active role in the community while possessing a strong ambition, a winning attitude and the ability to overcome adversity?

 

Every year, the Anthony Muņoz Foundation identifies and rewards students who exhibit the above qualities as part of the Anthony Muņoz Foundation Straight "A" Student Scholarship.

 

The nomination process runs from now until February 24, 2013. Anthony and WCPO's John Popovichwill join the 18 finalists in celebrating their all-around achievements on Wednesday, April 24. One male and one female senior finalist will receive a $5,000 grant towards their continuing education as well as a commemorative ring from Graduate Service, Inc. The remaining senior finalists will receive a $2,000 grant.

Girls Track Tryouts

2013-14 Class Scheduling Information

SCHEDULING 2013-2014 is coming in March. This year we will be using Infinite Campus Student Portal for students to enter their course requests for the 2013-2014 school year. In preparation for scheduling, please log onto your account to ensure that you are able to use the account.

 

If you have forgotten your password for Infinite Campus Student Portal, please email portal.support@kenton.kyschools.us .  

 

If you have NOT logged onto the student portal, please follow the steps below:

  • The username is the ten digit Student ID.
  • Your password is the student's first name initial, last name initial followed by the birth date using a 6 digit number. (For example: Jim Smith boron on June 10, 1999 would have a password of js061099.)
  • Upon initial login you will be told you have been flagged for a password change. The "old" password it is asking for is the initials and birthdate password that you entered.
