Deborah's Pick on the Boat
Deborah Neisel-Sanders, YaYA Office Administrator likes
A Shelter in the Storm, written after the events in Boston on April 15, commenting, "When I was asked to pick a favorite story of the past month, it was so hard to do - my whole world has been turned around and upside-down since last week, it's hard to ponder anything else that came before. But I couldn't get past this post - the last paragraph is my favorite. So many of us are leery, suspicious, or cynical about "church" - even UUs, most of whom shrink from that specific word - but when something huge turns your life or world-view around and nothing else can bring sense or solace, church is the one place so many of us turn to. I'm grateful that Carey put into words what many of us experienced last week. May our churches continue to be the ultimate source of refuge in lives that face confusion and trauma."
