Why mental health matters on the job
If you've been following our blog or newsletters, you know we've been talking a lot about how mental health affects all other aspects of life: physical health, sleep, relationships with family and friends, nutrition and exercise ... the list goes on. (Read all our Mental Health Matters posts here.) But one thing we may not always think of is how neglecting our mental health affects our work.

Joining the NAMIWalks Movement
On Saturday, May 21st, staff, clients and friends of Jefferson Center walked with NAMI Colorado to raise awareness and funds to support and educate those affected by mental illness. NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Colorado is dedicated to building better lives for the 250,000 plus Coloradans and their families who are affected by any number of mental illnesses - schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, panic disorder and others.
FREE Mental Health First Aid Classes
Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.  

Youth Mental Health First Aid
May 25 and May 27th, 2016
