News and Events:
September 2013

The NHWBA officially kicked off the fall season last week with our Annual Fall Reception.  I was very disappointed that a work-related conflict kept me from attending this year's festivities (a true failure of work-life balance to be sure), but I have been so pleased to receive rave reviews from so many of our members.  To those of you who lend your support every year by attending, thank you.  If this is the only NHWBA event you attend, please consider joining us at one of our other upcoming events.  We think you will enjoy our other offerings every bit as much as the Reception that kicks off every NHWBA year.

I would also like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all of the people who made this year's Reception such a resounding success.  Our presenter and honoree, Judge Gillian Abramson and Chief Justice Tina Nadeau, delivered moving and heartfelt speeches enjoyed by all in attendance. Our new Networking Director, Talesha Caynon hit the ground running and worked with her Committee to make everything go seamlessly. Sandra Cabrera once again wowed us with a beautiful program and slideshow.  Our Executive Director, Gretchen Pyles, as always, worked tirelessly and kept all of us organized and on track.  And last, but by no means least, Karyl Martin took on the duties of master of ceremonies in my absence.

We could not have done it without the support and enthusiasm of you, our members.  And for that, we are eternally grateful.

Best regards,

Holly J. Kilibarda, President

New Hampshire Women's Bar Association

Thanks to the Sponsors of our

16th Annual Fall Reception

The NHWBA's 16th Annual Fall Reception was held on September 19, 2013 at the Concord Country Club and was capped by the presentation of the 2013 Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award to the Honorable Tina L. Nadeau. Judge Gillian Abramson provided insightful and entertaining introductory remarks before the presentation of the award to Chief Justice Nadeau. Chief Justice Nadeau's remarks were well received. At the event, almost $500 was raised for the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship Fund through a raffle. Donations to the Winnie McLaughlin Scholarship Fund can still be made by sending a check to NHWBA, P.O. Box 915, Manchester, NH  03105-0915.  To view photos from the event, click here.
