Can autism be "cured"? Or was it a mis-diagnosis to begin with?
Writer Ruth Padawer asks just that in the NY Sunday Times magazine. Padawer reports on a variety of research studies and projects and examines the traditions of autism diagnosis and treatment. Though she writes that "Autism is considered a lifelong developmental disorder ... though the symptoms of autism frequently become less severe by adulthood, the consensus has always been that its core symptoms remain." And yet, when she profiles four families and their autistic children who, over the years, have gradually been "cured" of autism. Or were they simply mis-diagnosed to begin with, Padawer asks.
My feeling for quite some time, based on the hundreds and hundreds of clients that I have helped become symptom-free, is that they were mis-diagnosed to begin with.
Symptoms of autism and Aspergers are remarkably similar to a communication disorder caused by an overly-strong visual brain, the "Maverick Mind," and I will be covering these similarities in my September webinar class.
If your child has a problem with attention, listening, learning, behaving -- and that same child seems to have remarkably strong visual skills, I would be happy to speak with you about it for no charge. FREE 30-MIN CONSULTATION
The purpose of this free initial consultation is for Dr. Florance to review a child's symptoms and family history with the parents in order to make an initial determination of whether the child has an over-working visual brain. If that is the case, the next step would be a full evaluation to provide a foundation for Dr. Florance to custom design a training program.
Dr. Florance also works with adults, in addition to working with families of children and teenagers and college-age students.
Schedule a free 30-minute consultation by phone or Skype to speak with Dr. Florance about what can be done.
