I'm pleased to announce that we'll be offering our much-in-demand webinar class, Introduction to Brain Engineering again this month. It is designed especially for parents and other adults who are new to the idea of brain engineering and the "Maverick Mind." There is no charge for the class.

In this webinar, I explain the signposts of an over-working visual brain and the similarities between these Maverick symptoms and the symptoms of autism and Asperger's, as described by best practice standards. I will also cover the basics of what "brain engineering" is and how it is used to resolve the Maverick symptoms and bring the visual and verbal brain processing systems into harmony.

The result is a happier Maverick because improved verbal attention, memory and processing leads to a relief of frustration, anxiety and tension.

Magnificant Maverick Moments

Every now and then I get an email from a past client, updating me about how their Maverick child is doing. Here is one that I received last week that made me feel very proud and very happy for this family. It reminded me of how I felt with each little success my son Whitney experienced in school many years ago.

Hi Dr. Florance,

It's been years since we worked together to help my daughter. I heard the song "Down by the Bay" today and it brought back so many memories. [My daughter] was 4 yrs. old when we started brain engineering I think. She is now in 5th grade. She is in resource classes and regular ed. She has come so far and I just want to say you helped me get her going on the right track. She made so much progress when we worked with her back then and I just want to say, "Thank you"! She came out of her world and was able to begin learning.

About Dr. Florance

Dr. Cheri L. Florance

Dr. Cheri Florance pioneered the scientific basis for Brain Engineering to address language and communication problems originating in a strong visual brain interfering with the development of the auditory-verbal brain, sometimes mimicking the symptoms of Autism Spectrum, ADD, PDD, Aspergers and other disorders. She named this visual brain syndrome the "Maverick Mind," and wrote the book Maverick Mind based on her findings and her personal experience with her third child who was diagnosed as autistic, but who is now a college graduate and engineer, and completely symptom-free.

Dr. Florance now has an international practice, working with Mavericks all over North America and Europe, as well as Greece, Cyprus, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa, and South Korea. Her training programs and consultation practice follows best practice standards of the U.S. Dept. of Education, the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization, and the International Classification of Diseases.
