Student Choreography Showcase
All students ages 10 and up are invited to participate in our Student Choreography Showcase. The showcase will be an informal performance for family and friends held in studio 1 at TDS on Friday, August 8. The deadline for submission is July 8. This event is free to participate in and free to watch. Please reserve your slot by using the link below.
Date: Friday, August 8
Dancer Arrival: 6:45pm
Performance: 7:00-7:45pm
Rules & Guidelines
Choreographers: Choreographers entering work must be TDS students. Group choreography (multiple choreographers) is allowed. Structured improvography is permitted. Be sure to note all choreographers when signing up.
Choreography: All routines must be entirely original works.
Number of Entries: Choreographers may be listed on up to three different group choreography projects. A choreographer may present no more than 2 individual entries where they are listed as the sole choreographer.
Styles: All styles of dance are welcome.
Group Size: Solos through large groups are allowed.
Performers: Performers must be TDS students.
Costumes: Costumes may be elaborate or simple, and should reflect the choreographer's artistic direction. Keep in mind that this is an informal showcase. Costumes must be appropriate for all ages.
Props (items held by dancers and are moved at least one time in the routine): Are permitted.
Stage Set (or scenery): Is not allowed.
Music: Please remove all profanity and explicit content from your music. Music must be presented on a CD for review 7 days before the showcase. Please record only one track per CD. We will be using the CDs for the showcase, but be sure to bring a backup music option (CD, ipod/pad/phone, computer).
Length: Routines should be less than 2 minutes and 45 seconds long.
There are a limited number of slots for the performance, so be sure to sign up early!
