LOCAL LOVE CONTINUES TO GROW IN 2103!
The just released 2013 survey from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance demonstrates that customers are increasingly showing their "love" for local businesses:
"Independent businesses experienced solid revenue growth in 2012, buoyed in part by "buy local first" initiatives and growing public interest in supporting locally owned businesses. This is the fifth year in a row that the survey has shown the strong positive influence of the shop local/local first movement."
"Independent businesses in communities with an active "buy local first" initiative (like Downtown First) reported average revenue growth of 8.6 percent in 2012, compared to 3.4 percent for those in areas without such an initiative."
For the complete summary of the survey findings, please visit: http://www.ilsr.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/2013-Survey.pdf
