Volunteer Corner

Aydee JoyaVolunteer of the Month
Aydee Joya has been a Citizenship Now! Volunteer Corps member since 2012. She is originally from Colombia, and after earning a Law degree she came to the United States with her two sons. She became a U.S. citizen in 2010. When asked how she has been impacted personally by joining the Corps, Aydee says: "I have been able to combine my job experience with the volunteer program, which helps strengthen my experience in the immigration field."

Poll Question

You are volunteering at a citizenship event
and are assigned to the Application
Assistance station. A participant sits down
with you and you ask her for all of her
passports and how many trips she has taken outside of the United States since
becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident
(LPR) (i.e., green card holder). Why?
