Constant Comment
Jeff
Volunteer Appreciation Day is next Wednesday, April 20, and I want to take a moment to thank all of you who donate so much of your time to Burgundy!

From co-op days in Early Childhood (and let's not forget those huge bags of snacks!) to weekends building sets for Middle School productions, for Cove opening and closing weekends, for Board service and BPA leadership and work groups, for admission tours and kind words to prospective parents, for Library, Auction and Fair help, and for all the field trips, class parties, big events and small favors in between -- know that Burgundy would not be Burgundy without you!

As a rule I try not to speak for others. But I know that I can speak for all Burgundy faculty and staff when I thank our volunteers, current parents, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents and friends, without whose contributions we could not do what we do and be all that we are.

You are a blessing to Burgundy and a big part of what makes us the community as well as the school that we are. All of our students are fortunate to have you in their lives, as day-to-day helpers and as role models.

Thank you so much!

Coming Up at Burgundy ...
Earth Week Activities and Delegate Visit
Next week is Earth Week, and Burgundy classes will be participating in individual projects as well as group activities.

There is a school-wide collection of gently used books Monday, April 18 through Wednesday, April 20 in the Middle School Atrium. Middle School students will sort the books Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday, April 21, all students will have the chance to select a book in this "recycled" book swap. All books not chosen by Burgundy students will be donated to Wright to Read.

Earth Day Friday, April 22, Burgundy will welcome Virginia State Delegates Mark Sickles and Paul Krizek '76 to campus. Beginning at 11:40 a.m. at the amphitheater, they will present our school with a formal copy of House Resolution 218, an official commendation for Burgundy marking our 70th anniversary. Dels. Sickles and Krizek, a Burgundy alumnus, were patrons of the resolution. After they speak, representatives from each class will share their activities for Earth Week, followed by a buddy lunch. Burgundy families are welcome to join us for this event!

Our team of secret agents needs your help to capture the mole! Keep reading Constant Comment for more secret messages on this exciting mission.

All current Burgundy students, including graduating 8th graders, are invited to join us for this exciting Gap Camp. Mark your calendar: Monday, June 13-Friday, June 17. Camp is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Spy activities will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Secret agents are welcome one day, multiple days, or the entire week.
