Welcome to Norma Roberts, Buckeyes Sub for Dana LesPierre

As many of you know, our Buckeyes teacher Dana LesPierre will be going out on maternity leave soon. (Congratulations, Dana!) We are also excited to announce that former 2/3 Viceroys teacher Norma Roberts will be the long term substitute for Dana! Norma taught here for 12 years, and her son graduated from Burgundy in 2006. Norma brings a great wealth of knowledge to the classroom and we are looking forward to having her back on campus. Over the last several weeks, Norma has already been meeting the Buckeyes as an occasional sub for Dana and Erin, and she will work closely with Dana to make sure there is a smooth transition.

Please help us in welcoming back Norma and in wishing Dana and her family well!

Introduction to Pedro Perrella, PE Sub for Jerry Jirgl

While Jerry Jirgl is out for several weeks (beginning late next week) for scheduled back surgery and recovery (good luck, Jerry!), local coach Pedro Perrella will join our staff to fill in. Pedro is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in kinesiology. Pedro will start November 4, and we expect him to stay through early December, when Jerry anticipates returning to campus.

Please help us welcome Pedro and wish Jerry a quick and easy recovery.

Update on Assistant Head Search

We had four capable, experienced candidates visit campus for the day recently and have decided to invite two finalists back to campus. They will visit Monday, November 10 and Thursday-Friday, November 13-14. The visits will last for a full day and include parent and faculty focus groups, as well as lunch with students. If you're interested in meeting with a candidate, please register for a morning or evening session. Extended Day will be available at the evening sessions.

The finalist visits are potentially the last phase of the search. However, we are continuing to assess applications as they arrive. The search will conclude when we are convinced we have the right candidate we will extend the search.
