A Note From Your Chamber President...Tom Williams
|
Greetings Fellow Knightdale Chamber of Commerce Members,
On behalf of the Knightdale Chamber Board of Directors, I would like to announce the resignation of our dearly loved and respected Chamber Executive Director, Jennifer Bryan. Jennifer has accepted a position as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the Wake Tech Foundation.
Jennifer began her service to our Chamber and the Town of Knightdale in 1995. At that time, the Chamber had 67 members. Today, we are over 400 members strong and growing. During this time, Jennifer's leadership and vision has steered the Chamber into Economic Development, Governmental Affairs and Advocacy, and expanded membership programs and services.
In addition to being a strong professional advocate for the business community, Jennifer has been and will continue to be a friend and neighbor. Please join us in wishing Jennifer continued success in her new career endeavors.
The Knightdale Chamber Board of Directors, along with Mayor Russell Killen have initiated a Selection Committee to search for a new Chamber Executive Director. In the interim, we promise to continue to provide the excellent service our members have come to expect with an eye on the continued growth and success of Knightdale.
Best regards,
Tom Williams
President, Knightdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

Krispy Kreme Neighborhood Shoppe is currently running their annual drive for Victory Junction 45 event. Victory Junction is a camp started by the Petty family in honor of their late son Adam Petty. Since 2004 this camp out in Randleman, NC has helped thousands of kids who have had very serious medical conditions have a good time and enjoy things that may be difficult to enjoy otherwise. The cost to send just one kid is very high due to state of the art medical facility and medical staff. Victory Junction does not charge these kids to come out to camp, which is why we are here asking for donations. Come in to any Raleigh/Knightdale Krispy Kreme location between now and May 19th to make a donation. Any questions please visit the website www.victoryjunction.org.
You are invited to learn more about Thales Academy (K-3 beginning July 2013) coming soon to Knightdale! An informational meeting will be held at Green Pines Baptist Church, 1498 Hodge Rd., Knightdale, on Monday, May 6, 6:30-7:30pm.As it looks toward continued growth, the Town of Knightdale is planning a community branding campaign that will begin this summer. The Town is currently accepting bids for the research and strategy phase of the campaign. Bids will be accepted until April 26. What's branding? It's a way of researching a community and determining its unique role in its region and larger areas. It's tempting to think of a new logo as a branding campaign, but logos, color schemes, and taglines are only a small part of the comprehensive picture. The "listening" phase comes long before any logos are created. If you live in Knightdale, we'll be looking for your opinion this summer. Knightdale has an exciting story to tell, and we want you to be part of it.

MEMBER HIGHLIGHT... Northside Community Church
|
MEMBER HIGHLIGHT...Northside Community Church ("NCC") was founded in 2002 by its current pastor, Rev. Adrian Dixon, and held its first service in the old Ace Hardware building in the Wal-Mart Shopping Center in Knightdale. Now, with more than 175 regular attendees, NCC just moved into its new home - a freshly renovated landmark building at 621 First Avenue in downtown Knightdale directly across from the Town's new central park. NCC's new home in the heart of Knightdale reflects the fact that, as a church, NCC has a heart for Knightdale. In fact, NCC's mission is "to meet our community's changing needs with the unchanging Gospel of Christ." As a result of that mission, NCC has formed a vibrant community of Christians from all walks of life. NCC is a place where young couples, senior citizens, and people from all ethnic backgrounds come together for authentic worship and fellowship. NCC has a casual atmosphere with a contemporary worship style and a thriving children's ministry. Whether it is participating in vacation Bible School, attending one of our evening small groups, worshiping through our Faith Expressions dance program or joining the men's Bible study at IHOP on Friday mornings, there is a place for everyone to connect at NCC. Check out the website at www.northsidecommunity.com to find out more about NCC. You're invite to come and worship with us on Sunday mornings at either 9:00 or 10:45 am. |
