We are extremely pleased to announce the following Award Winners!

Small Business of the Year...Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Whether it is attending or helping with Chamber events such as the Business Expo and the golf tournament or hosting Business After Hours, this Dickey's Chamber involvement is exceptional.  Giving back to the community is also important to this business. In the past year they have hosted 20 school fundraiser events in-store to raise money for our local PTAs and youth sports programs. Other involvement include sponsorship of local Relay for Life teams to raise money for Cancer Research; American Red Cross Blood Drive; Knightdale Elementary School Read n' Feed program sponsor, East Wake High School Golf Tourney Banquet Sponsor, made a donation to local Planter's Walk Family who lost their home to a house fire; and they have an Employment partnership with Haven House to employ special needs adults. Large Business of the Year...Rex Wellness Center of Knightdale

Knightdale and Eastern Wake County asked for it, they got it, and what a tremendous success it has been! The Rex Wellness Center of Knightdale receives about 315 visits per day or almost 9, 500 per month. They presently employ about 30 and provide volunteer opportunities to close to 30. Each day, you'll see people taking care of themselves (with a smile on their face) in this facility on Knightdale Blvd.; challenging themselves with small everyday challenges that lead to big lifetime changes, practicing preventative care, learning the importance of healthy eating, nutrition, fitness, and emotional health. This state-of-the-art medically overseen facility has brought top-notch fitness equipment, programs and amenities to Knightdale that citizens had been clamoring for. We applaud the leadership of Rex Healthcare for recognizing the importance of promoting a healthier community by bringing such a facility with excellent customer service to our town. Lives are being impacted and our community is growing stronger and more fit every day. (Corey Kozar of Rex Wellness Center pictured above fourth from left)

Distinguished Service Award...Josh Francis

The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Josh Francis of Greystone at Widewaters for his exceptional leadership service to the Chamber during the passage of the Knightdale Parks & Recreational Facilities Bond that was on the ballot in November.  Under his leadership, the committee was instrumental in helping to verbalize the importance of the bond which helped lead to 80 % of Knightdale voters voting "YES".  (Josh Francis pictured above on far right)
