Happy New Age!

Greetings!

Happy New Age!

I would have said Happy New Year but somehow the 2012 / 2013 changeover seems to have signified far more than that for me this year as well as a great many others too.

Whether it was all the furore that surrounded the winter solstice that some believed would bring an end to the world completely I don't know, but several things did indeed terminate at this time in my life and there was seemingly no way of avoiding it. In fact for a while this newsletter was actually going to be called 'Death and Rebirth' such was the severity of things falling apart running up to and over the festive period. Scenarios that had perhaps served their purpose came under the microscope and had to be let go of, certainly in their present form.

It was the same for a lot of my friends and acquaintances too, more so than usual I gather. When we enter a new year it naturally gives us time to reflect on all that has gone on before and allows us to set our stall out for the next 12 months. Many of us use this collective two week hibernation as an opportunity to set New Year's resolutions to endeavour to change our lives for the better but this year there seemed to be greater forces at work and more energy around so there was no other option but to shift.

There seems to have been no end of partnerships, relationships and organizations breaking up, hopes, careers, aspirations or loved ones dying and illnesses taking hold. All sent to question us as to what we have been doing and allow us to seek the true authenticity to our own being that lies somewhere beneath the surface of our own lives.

2013 brings us a simple choice to continue to fight for a way of life that is dying or embrace a new world that is being born. My friends in Tamera that I was fortunate enough to meet in Autumn 2011 are doing their best to welcome in the new age but they need support. If you find that you are moved by today's video heralding a new era perhaps you would care to help them out. I have promised to send out their message to my network endeavouring to do what I can to help them.

Otherwise for more insight on what the past couple of weeks has brought to me in particular and the people I have come into contact with reminding us all of what we will most likely have to do to embrace the future through creating a new way of relating and communicating please read on.

Much love.

What little steps can we make to welcome it in?

Sat on a log in Longtimber Woods last Friday involved in a Conversation With Nature, I looked out across a land full of dead autumn leaves and yet in amongst all that had fallen around me lay the shoots of recovery, spring's new growth.

In the days running up to the winter solstice, tensions and frustrations had been building within the many groups and organizations I was involved with and projects I was a part of. Unspoken truths lay dormant beneath the surface that were about to erupt into life regardless of the consequences they had to be cast into the air, to see the light of day.

These truths brought with them a lot of hurt and upset to others because they had been allowed to fester and explode unexpectedly rather than slowly being released over a longer period of time. Although we had met within those groups and organizations and discussed agendas and all what we were doing to further our goals we had never given ourselves the space to simply be heard amongst our peers, just to be listened to and share what our depth of feelings were towards the issues at hand or the next stage of our evolution. We had lost the fundamental art of relationship, communication and indeed conversation in our busyness.

That I believe is the strength of the Conversations With Nature and Conversation Cafés that I am now running for people. Where a space is being created for people to purely talk into and feel themselves heard. it is one small part I believe in beginning to embrace the new age.

As we go forward it will become ever more prevalent for us all to speak our truths and not to be scared of doing this, we simply have to create the right environment or culture to be able to do this, so that when we express ourselves our comments aren't taken too personally and we can all move on from it. Not so much telling others what they need to do but more expressing how it makes us feel when certain scenarios play out.

As one of the very wise Hopi Elders would say 'At this time in history we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment we do our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.' To hear more from the Hopi Elders why not click here.

'How do we really talk to each other without taking things too personally?' was one of the topics of conversation that we discussed last Tuesday night at the latest of my Conversation Cafés. If you wish to partake in a similar conversation why not join me and others on either Thursday 17th January or Tuesday 22nd January at 7.00pm at the Ivybridge Community Hub, contact me now for more information on this.

Or perhaps similar issues have come up for you or your organization leading up to Christmas or very soon after and you would just like to discuss it with someone or arrange to have a coaching session in person, via skype or by way of telephone, then reply to this email and let's see what we can arrange.

If you have any further comments related to this blog why not click here and let me know your thoughts.

Until next time.

Much love Sx.
