Sat on a log in Longtimber Woods last Friday involved in a Conversation With Nature, I looked out across a land full of dead autumn leaves and yet in amongst all that had fallen around me lay the shoots of recovery, spring's new growth.
In the days running up to the winter solstice, tensions and frustrations had been building within the many groups and organizations I was involved with and projects I was a part of. Unspoken truths lay dormant beneath the surface that were about to erupt into life regardless of the consequences they had to be cast into the air, to see the light of day.
These truths brought with them a lot of hurt and upset to others because they had been allowed to fester and explode unexpectedly rather than slowly being released over a longer period of time. Although we had met within those groups and organizations and discussed agendas and all what we were doing to further our goals we had never given ourselves the space to simply be heard amongst our peers, just to be listened to and share what our depth of feelings were towards the issues at hand or the next stage of our evolution. We had lost the fundamental art of relationship, communication and indeed conversation in our busyness.
That I believe is the strength of the Conversations With Nature and Conversation Cafés that I am now running for people. Where a space is being created for people to purely talk into and feel themselves heard. it is one small part I believe in beginning to embrace the new age.
As we go forward it will become ever more prevalent for us all to speak our truths and not to be scared of doing this, we simply have to create the right environment or culture to be able to do this, so that when we express ourselves our comments aren't taken too personally and we can all move on from it. Not so much telling others what they need to do but more expressing how it makes us feel when certain scenarios play out.
As one of the very wise Hopi Elders would say 'At this time in history we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment we do our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.' To hear more from the Hopi Elders why not

'How do we really talk to each other without taking things too personally?' was one of the topics of conversation that we discussed last Tuesday night at the latest of my Conversation Cafés. If you wish to partake in a similar conversation why not join me and others on either Thursday 17th January or Tuesday 22nd January at 7.00pm at the Ivybridge Community Hub,

Or perhaps similar issues have come up for you or your organization leading up to Christmas or very soon after and you would just like to discuss it with someone or arrange to have a coaching session in person, via skype or by way of telephone, then reply to this email and let's see what we can arrange.
