Kolstein Ceruti Master Art

Nestled in our showroom among our fine stock of used and vintage double basses is this Ceruti Master Art by Kolstein. With Heritage strings and a bag, this double bass is the whole package. A great option for students looking for an affordable fully-carved instrument.

Non-Invasive C-Extension

Get Low! The UB C-extension allows you to hit the lowest notes in the score. Our non-invasive construction is custom made to fit ANY double bass.

Revolution Solo

The patented Rev Solo is the pickup of choice for a growing list of professional musicians, including Steve Millhouse.

Mark your calendars! Eric Revis: Live at the Barn on Friday, August 21st.

Upton Bass is excited to introduce a series of events at the Big Red Barn. Throughout the fall, we'll be hosting events featuring double bassists from across the spectrum--classical to roots, artists big and small. Kicking off this cool new series is jazz bassist, Eric Revis. Stay tuned as details are coming in next weeks issue; but the date is set, so be sure to RSVP before it's too late!

Give Gary or me a call, and let's talk about building a bass for today.
We love what we do, and we'd love to do it for you!

Broadway: Behind the Scenes
ItShouldaBeenYou.com

Steve Millhouse is an electric and double bassist with an impressive resume. He's played for several Broadway productions including Godspell, Pippin, and the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. He's been nominated for Grammy awards, played national TV jingles, concerts with TV and film stars, toured with Ute Lemper...and the list goes on...

Currently, Steve plays bass for "It Shoulda Been You;" a hilarious Broadway musical that has received rave reviews. Steve invited us to share this behind the scenes glimpse of life as a Broadway musician. He didn't want to spoil the plot, but as a teaser, he told us that the last song features a big bass solo.

About "It Shoulda Been You" from the official website:
"In the history of totally insane wedding days...this one takes the cake! Tony Award winners Tyne Daly and Harriet Harris head a hilarious cast complete with blushing brides, nervous grooms, overbearing moms, unexpected guests, and enough twists and turns to make even the most experienced wedding planner throw up his hands and say 'holy matrimony!'"

"It Shoulda Been You" runs through August 9th. Don't miss it! Buy your tickets today at ItShouldaBeenYou.com...

The UB Standard Hybrid
Upton Bass.com

Steve plays an Upton Hybrid with a C-extension. The clubs and music halls of NYC are known by many professional musicians as being hard on instruments. They are packed with people, they're hot, and they often get quite humid. Steve came to us looking for an instrument that would offer physical stability in uncontrolled environments, but he didn't want to sacrifice tone. For Steve, the hybrid construction was the perfect balance.

"This Upton sounds SO great. It's loud, punchy, clear, dark and deep all at the same time....everything you could ask for." - Steve Millhouse

The UB Standard Hyrbid is a round double bass with a carved spruce top and plywood back and sides. All of our plywood is made in-house from our own tonewood veneers, and the top is carved by the same guys who make all of the custom Upton basses! Its design is based on the gamba pattern of the Upton Bohemian Model. The UB Standard Hybrid is handmade in Mystic, Connecticut and features top grade ebony components, German tuning machines, our best quality bridge, and more.
