In our community, the double bass is always trending. But it's always a delight to see our bass-loving comrades making national news.

In recent weeks, it was our friends Eric Revis and Jeff Fuller...and as many of you may know, they both play Upton basses.

Is there a connection between playing an Upton Bass and making national headlines? Maybe. Is it more likely that these guys are incredibly talented artists whose passion and hard work led them to success? Probably. But we'll let you draw your own conclusions.

Eric is an amazingly diverse musician. With the Eric Revis Trio, the sound is free-form but cohesive improvisation flanked by pianist Kris Davis and drummer Gerald Cleaver. Jeff plays an Upton Hawkes Hybrid (pictured), but has recently traded in an old Juzek double bass from his collection as a down-payment toward a new Concord model!
