1780 Klotz Upton Bass
YouTube  In this video Gary gives a sneak peak at the newest model we are working on (our second of four new models in the works!). We've been commissioned to make a "copy" of a 1780 Klotz owned previously by Yuir Golubev of the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. This is a fun "little" bass that should keep up with the bigger boys in tone! |
UB "Concord" Model
YouTube This is the FIRST of FOUR new model commissions we have been working on! This is a "Upton" interpretation of what the Prescott workshop in Concord, NH would have been making today if they were still in business. Taking a HUGE inspiration from 4 of the Prescott's we have had in our showroom to measure and compare, as well as the LaFaro Prescott, we have built this model as a solid wood flat-back. From the bridge down it is VERY Prescott...with most of our tinkering done in the upper bout shapes and geometries to meet the demands of modern players. This one is almost cleared varnish and we should be hearing it soon! You can expect videos, pictures and plenty of bass porn once it's done! Stay tuned! |
