By: Lyo Figueroa, HBA President It is hard to believe that summer is almost over! We have had a great 2016 summer filled with successful HBA events. It has been a summer in which we all got the opportunity to get to know more of our members, thank you for making this summer a complete success!
Our End of Summer Mixer was yet again a successful event, thanks to our colleagues of the OC Jewish Bar Association, Thurgood Marshall Bar Association, OC Women Lawyers Association and the OC Lavender Bar Association. Working with such excellent people was truly a wonderful experience, resulting in a sold out event filled with good food and great company. Please enjoy the event's pictures on our facebook page.
Now we invite you to join us for our most prestigious event of the year, the Annual Judge's BBQ on September 18, 2016. This year we are proud to honor Judge Cormac J. Carney, United States District Court, Central District of California for his arduous work and commitment to our Hispanic community. The event will be held at the home of Glen and Cristine Schnablegger, so please RSVP by September 11, 2016 to receive directions and detailed information. We sincerely hope you all will join us in honoring Judge Carney with this well-deserved recognition.
We will take the month of October as a break to recover from our summer events, but be ready for our Fall events! Our Annual Dia De Los Muertos Mixer will be held on November 1, 2016 and we will host a Raiders v. Texans Game Mixer on November 21, 2016, so please stay tuned for details.
As always, I remind you to please renew your membership to receive our member pricing for all of our events, friend us on facebook and follow us on twitter as we will have more details of our November events.
I hope you are all settling back comfortably into back-to-school schedules as summer comes to an end and hope you will all join the board, past presidents, Judges and our whole HBA membership in honoring Judge Carney at theAnnual Judge's BBQ on September 18, 2016.
