President's Message

Lyo Figueroa
By: Lyo Figueroa, HBA President

Thank you! It seems that all I do lately is say thank you to all of our members, but myself, the board and all past presidents are so grateful to have the unwavering support of our members. Your outpouring of support is truly humbling and we can only say Thank You!

On July 20th we had our event A Night of Networking & Baseball with OC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It was truly a success, tickets sold out and we spent a great summer night surrounded with great colleagues, their families, networking and getting to know each other. Please stop by our facebook page to enjoy the event's pictures.

Now coming up next week we have our biggest event of the summer, the End of Summer Mixer. Join us on August 11, 2016 for our End of Summer Mixer at Hector's on Broadway in Santa Ana. We are proud to be joining forces with the OC Jewish Bar Association, Thurgood Marshall Bar Association, OC Women Lawyer Association and the OC Lavender Bar Association, so please come out and join us for a night of good food, drinks and most important of all, excellent company. Tickets for this event usually sell out, so please get your tickets now!
Our next event will be our Annual Judge's BBQ on September 18, 2016 so please stay tuned for more details coming in the next weeks. As always be sure to renew your membership to receive our member pricing for all of our events, friend us on facebook and follow us on twitter.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate our very own Darrell P. White, HBA member and CFO.  Darrell was appointed as the American Bar Association, Litigation Section Liaison to the Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities. This commission was created to address the needs and challenges facing the Hispanic community within the legal system. Darrell's dedication to our Hispanic community is commendable. He is an exceptional role model to follow, not only for our future generations of Hispanic attorneys, but for all attorneys to invest our time and effort into our community. Congratulations Darrell! I have no doubt you will be an excellent representative and advocate for our Hispanic community.

Hope you are all having a great summer and we look forward to seeing you next week at our End of Summer Mixer!

-Lyo
