President's Message
Lyo Figueroa
By: Lyo Figueroa, HBA President

Summer is here, it's hard to believe we are halfway through 2016! It has been a great year so far, and here at the HBA we are looking forward to the rest of 2016 being as eventful and successful as the first half of the year. All of you have been great contributors to our success this year, your support means everything to us, so thank you very much for your continuous support of the HBA.

As a thank you to all of our members we will be holding a FREE MCLE class. Honorable Judge Gray (Ret.) will present our  FREE MCLE class on Competency Issues (formerly Detection and Prevention of Substance Abuse) June 28, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Centext Legal Services located in the city of Irvine. Lunch will be provided, so please RSVP to attend this event, as space is limited.

Our organization strives to support our members by procuring networking, mentoring and support among our members, but that is not the sole purpose of our organization. The HBA has always focused on fully supporting and representing the organization's mission since its inception nearly 40 years ago. One of our purposes of the HBA is to provide a vehicle and forum for the unified expression of opinions and positions by the association upon current social, political, economic, legal or other matter or events of concern to the members of the association. The race for the highest office in our country is of great concern to our organization and recent events have lead our organization to release a statement condemning actions by Presidential candidate, Donald Trump. Please take the time to read the full HBA Statement on Judicial Independence.

To keep updated with the HBA please make sure to friend us on facebook and follow us on twitter. Also, don't forget to renew your membership to attend all of our events coming up, we want to see all of you soon!
