President's Message
By: Lyo Figueroa, HBA President

Thank you! Myself, past presidents, the board and our members cannot thank you enough for having made our 38th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser & Installation Dinner a complete success. Our sponsors truly showed their support and helped our Dinner become one of the top fundraising HBA Dinners of all time, we cannot thank you enough. The Dinner was sold out and more than 500 judges, attorneys and community leaders enjoyed a Monte Carlo style night and danced the night away with La Sonora Dinamita. This event was a complete success, but it would not have been without your support, I invite you to enjoy the event pictures. For those of you who missed our Dinner this year, we hope you can join us at next year.

As we are in the subject of success, I would like to whole heartedly congratulate attorney M.C. Sungaila. M.C. was not only the recipient of the HBA Attorney of the Year Award last year, but has recently received her second consecutive California Lawyer of the Year Award (CLAY) for her work on a Ninth Circuit case. M.C. is truly an inspiration for our Hispanic attorneys and we are proud to have her as a part of our organization, congratulations and many more successes to come!

As our HBA Dinner is now passed us, our next big event is our Adventure MCLE Seminar in the Panamanian Jungle. There are still spots available, if you are up for a fun trip in beautiful Panama, please join us. For more information and details, please visit our website or email us at: info@ochba.org .

Our board, past presidents and I look forward to meet and engage with many of you at our upcoming events. Please remember to renew your membership if you have not done so, as many more exciting events are upcoming for the HBA.
