President's Message

By: Mayte Santacruz, 2013 HBA President

Hope your summer is going well, and that you've taken a break to attend our networking events.  Two of our events already happened, and we couldn't be happier with their success and turnout.  On July 22nd, HBA members had the opportunity to socialize with members of the OC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and ALPFA OC.  We had an incredible turnout of nearly 150 people.  Thanks to all of those attended, and special thanks to our event sponsors Ernst & Young and New York Life Insurance.  Our joint mixer with the OC Jewish Bar Association and the Anti-Defamation League on August 6th was equally fun and successful.  The over 100 attendees that joined us had a wonderful time.  Thanks again to the OC Jewish Bar Association for inviting us!

Our next event, the Annual End of the Summer Mixer, is going to be on Friday, August 23rd, at the Yost Theater in Downtown Santa Ana.  This year, we have an unprecedented number of bar organizations co-hosting this event with us, including the OC Asian American Bar Association, OC Celtic Bar Association, OC Criminal Defense Bar Association, OC Korean American Bar Association, OC Jewish Bar Association, OC Lavender Bar Association, OC Trial Lawyers Bar Association, OC Women Lawyers Association, Lex Romana, and the Thurgood Marshall Bar Association.  It is one of our most popular events of the year.  You don't want to miss it!

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and we hope to see you on August 23rd!

~Mayte
