President's Message
By: Mayte Santacruz, 2013 HBA President
The HBA celebrated its 35th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser & Installation Dinner on March 2nd at Disney's Grand California Hotel. Thanks to the generous contributions of numerous sponsors, including Event Sponsor Latham & Watkins LLP, Platinum Sponsors Union Bank and The Disneyland Resort/The Walt Disney Company, and Gold Sponsor Ogletree Deakins, the Dinner was a great fundraising success.
The 500 guests who attended the Annual Dinner this year had the opportunity to hear inspirational remarks from our four exceptional honorees, including Attorney of the Year Frank Ospino and Hon. Francisco Briseņo Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Amin David, and from this year's Wally Davis scholarship recipients, Hugo Salazar of Chapman School of Law and Samantha Morales of Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Many of our guests ended the night by dancing to the famous cumbia songs of La Sonora Dinamita Show. Without a doubt, this was a memorable celebration, and we hope you will join us again next year!
Now that the Annual Dinner is over, we invite our members and friends to take part in the many events and activities we have planned for this year, including the HBA/PLC Naturalization Clinic on April 13th, the Cinco de Mayo de Barranda on May 2nd, the MABA Softball Tournament and the AIDS Walk on May 4th, and the sold out CLE Trip to Costa Rica on May 23-27.
Thank you again for your support.
~Mayte
