Special Event Welcome Center Lands at RNO
On July 29th, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, in partnership with the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA), unveiled a new Welcome Center near baggage claim. The interactive center provides passengers an opportunity to learn about the wide array of special events hosted year-round in the Reno-Tahoe region.

| The center features videos promoting the region, signage with a year-round event calendar, special events brochures for the passengers to take with them, and an interactive photo opportunity with the Reno eNVy Airstream. With 3.8 million passengers flying through the airport each year, it is the perfect place to promote the events that happen year-round and encourage passengers to return to the region for a future visit.
Next time you are at the airport, stop by the welcome center, get a photo of yourself in the airstream, and share it at #renotahoeusa!

Annual Festival Has a Positive Impact on Airport
As the annual Burning Man Festival wraps up for 2013, more than 15,000 tired and dusty "Burners" will make their way through Reno-Tahoe International Airport. | Three of the 15,000 thousand Burners who traveled through the airport this year.
|
Burning Man is the single largest annual event to pass through the airport, with an estimated economic impact of $11 million, from airline ticket sales, car rentals, and money spent in the restaurants and retail shops. The airport welcomes this unique group in a variety of ways: from setting up a Welcome Area in Baggage Claim for travel information, to an eight foot tall Mini-Man in the terminal, or through our partnership with the Black Rock Arts Foundation that provides artwork in the depARTures Gallery on the second floor. Reno-Tahoe International works closely with the airlines to offer extra customer service to support this large group and even the custodial staff works extra to keep the facility clean during the busy departure days over Labor Day weekend. |
Mini Man, located in Baggage Claim, is an 8' replica of the effigy that burns each year in the Black Rock Desert. |
Burning Man puts the "international" in Reno-Tahoe International with over 34 different countries traveling through the airport from as far away countries as Nigeria, Iceland, Egypt, Morocco, or China. Proving that you really can fly to Reno-Tahoe from anywhere in the world. |
