Live ADHD Free

December 2013 Newsletter
Hello,

Somehow December has arrived, ushering out 2013 sooner than seems possible. I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge all that I am grateful for.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to bring self-esteem to people with ADHD who have been undervalued for their whole lives. I'm glad for the clients I work with who teach me more about talent, hard work, and even myself, every day.

I'm grateful for my creative team, who helped me take my business to the next level this year with the launch of Live ADHD Free in March. I have a new website, new programs, a new series of e-books, and I have even completed a manuscript for my first full-length book! It has been a busy year.

I'm grateful for all of the incredible people that I met when I presented at Laurie Dupar's Virtual Summit this summer and at the CHADD Conference where I exhibited in November. I feel blessed to be part of such a positive, capable community.

I'm especially grateful for my family, my friends and my little dog Jack.

Finally, I'm grateful for my connection to you, the thousands of readers I get to communicate with through this email, and all of the others I converse with on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Pinterest. This supportive community is our most powerful tool, and I'm so thankful to be part of it. Reach out on social media or through email to tell me what you're thankful for this year.

Enjoy the holiday season, and get ready for even more excitement at Live ADHD Free in 2014!

Solving ADHD can't be done with one click.

But it's a start.

Having an ADHD brain-type may feel like a sentence to a lifetime of frustration, self-doubt and diminished self-esteem. This simply isn't true. In fact, there is great potential for people with ADHD to avoid unwanted behaviors and embrace positive change immediately.

This three-part online seminar will open your eyes to your full potential and inspire you to look inside your heart without judgment. Together we will design a detailed strategy for success, complete with ways to break old habits and establish healthier ones.

Next Seminar Starts: January 14, 2014

Reconnecting with Gratitude

The holidays are upon us. Are you feeling merry and bright, or...anxious?

What if you were to treat this Holiday Season more like an Advent Calendar, and less like a Yankee Swap?

Graditude

It's counter-intuitive that this time of year, which is meant to be so festive, can be nothing short of exhausting. There are parties to attend at work, school, and all of the charities and organizations you're involved with, not to mention the neighborhood, friend groups and, of course, family. The to-do list doubles with shopping, cooking, baking, decorating, shipping and so on. Somehow all of these tasks take longer than they should because they always seem to entail rummaging through boxes in the basement or searching for a cherished family recipe in the junk drawer. The house has to be clean at all times in case of drop-in company. Greeting cards have to be mailed before the rush - with a follow-up batch sent out to people you forgot to include in the first round. The weather gets messy just as your travel plans gear up.

The burden of so many extra chores, activities and distractions brings chaos into even the most carefully ordered life. Throw in the barrage of blinking lights and interactive store displays and auto-tuned carols blaring from every speaker, and you officially enter holiday-induced sensory overload. It can be especially hard to feel in control of your ADHD at times like this.

So, as another holiday season bears down on us, it's time to make a choice about your attitude. To illustrate what I mean, let's turn our attention to two very different holiday traditions.
