Fools for Christ

1 Corinthians 1:18: "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to

us who are being saved it is the power of God."

Nobody likes to be called a fool, but on this April 1st, I challenge you to look at being called a "fool" as a badge of honor.  Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:10, "We are fools for Christ!"  With his audience, the intellectuals of Greece, Paul was referring to the followers of Christ as being easy targets for the wise leaders of the day.

This sounds a lot like the United States of America in 2015.  Professors on college campuses challenge their students' beliefs, evolutionary scientists scoff at Christians who believe in the literal six-day creation account in Genesis, and political protesters brand business owners who want to hire like-minded individuals as "narrow-minded" and "hateful".  This American world cries out for bold Christians.

Proverbs 28:1 says "The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion".  We are made righteous through Christ's death and we are given hope through Christ's resurrection.

"Fools for Christ"...What an honorable title!
