Does Your Message Have Integrity?
This message appears above the entrance of a national university: "Enter here into the timeless fellowship of the human spirit." But over the door this sign appears: "Use other door." Ask yourself if you might be making a similar mismatch when you train or present.
- Does the purpose of your presentation match your audience's needs?
- Does your presentation's hook lead naturally to its stated purpose?
- Does your body language express openness to input, regardless of your message?
Enhance your staff's integrity and credibility with Guila's Present Like a Pro! workshop.

Your Hook Can Win Ice Cream
Summer is here. Three lucky winners of June's "Create a Hook" Contest will receive gift certificates worth $10 toward the ice cream of their choice. (What is a hook? Watch this video to remind yourself. Remember, all great presentations start with a hook.)Nancy DuBois, chief concierge of the Lodge at the Golden Gate in San Francisco, gives us the fact below. Watch the video, use this fact to create a hook for a topic you present, and send it to us. You may be slurping ice cream soon! Fact: The U.S. Navy originally planned to paint the Golden Gate Bridge with stripes of black and yellow. Its famed orange color was supposed to be a sealant. (Tip: Start your Hook with the phrase, "Did you know....?")

 Guila's Book Report
Show and Tell: How Everybody Can Make Extraordinary Presentations by Dan Roam (Portfolio/Penguin)
Just published, this book provides a fun and practical approach to creating four distinct types of presentations. Not yet published in paperback, it's worth its price if you are serious about presenting effectively. I rarely recommend books, but this one's great.
