EPIC's Parent Company Earns 4th Consecutive Ethics Award

March 6, 2013 -- WPS Health Insurance, Wisconsin's leading not-for-profit health insurer and a large government contractor for the federal Medicare and TRICARE programs, announced today that it has once again been recognized by the Ethisphere® Institute, the leading business ethics think-tank, as one of the World's Most Ethical (WME) Companies for 2013.

This is the fourth year in a row that WPS has been honored for promoting the highest ethical standards. WPS secured a hard-earned spot on the WME list by implementing and maintaining upright business practices and initiatives that are instrumental to the company's success, benefit the community, and raise the bar for ethical standards within the industry. A total of 145 companies made the exclusive list this year, and WPS is the only health insurance company in the world to receive this recognition four times.

To maintain vigilance in promoting sound, ethical business practices, WPS and its subsidiaries support corporate-wide training and awareness initiatives. Chief officers from each company are represented on the executive committee responsible for ethics program oversight. WPS wholly-owned subsidiaries include: The EPIC Life Insurance Company, Arise Health Plan, and WPS Community Bank.

EPIC Quote ProcessQuotes

What happens to the quote requests you send in?

It's simple -- our goal is to provide timely, accurate, competitive quotes. Above and beyond simple differences such as case size and premium, we also evaluate the quality of quote submission, just as you evaluate our proposal output.

Help us help you!

When submitting a quote to EPIC, you can speed up the process and receive the best initial rate by:

  • Providing an accurate, up-to-date census. Are salaries current? Any missing information means it will take longer to produce a quote.
  • Providing a detailed description of current benefits in force. Certificate books and recent billing statements are very helpful. How about an overview of why the case is out to bid? Are there service issues (claims, administrative), benefit shortcomings, promises undelivered by the current vendor, or is this simply a search for lower rates? If you are only looking for lower rates, the first question you need to answer is - what are the current and renewal rates? Bottom line -- let us know what you hope to achieve and it will be easier for us to deliver what you want.
  • If the group is over 100 lives, you will need two years of rates and experience. If you're not sure what you'll need, give us a call before you send in your quote. More detailed information equals a more aggressive quote.
  • Any special commission requirements? If so, let us know prior to quote.
