We're taking a pause in our summer photo improvement tips to bring you this IMPORTANT link!

The Craft and Hobby Association held it's annual Paper Arts + event July 21-23 in Chicago and Sierra Pacific Crafts held it's Summer Retailer show in Salt Lake City last week.

These events are where manufacturers preview their newest product and retailers can purchase them so you can have the most current products at your fingertips in your local retail stores.

Scraps Marketplace
A NEW EVENT! Focused on Vendors, Yard Sale and Classes

Would you like to shop with some of the best scrapbook businesses in the area? Would you like to sell some of your older, maybe duplicate, scrapbook stash? Would you like to take amazing scrapbook classes - we will be offering up to 14! Spend all day taking scrapbook classes!  

 

CLASS REGISTRATION WILL BE SEPTEMBER 1ST AT NOON.  

 

We've created a fun one-day event to do just that! Scraps Marketplace is your home for scrapbook vendors, yard sale steals and stellar classes in the DC area!

 

Scraps Marketplace is a brand new venture connecting two scrapbook crop company owners: Carren Crossley from Crops Plus of Sterling, VA and Mirella Arroyo from Weekend Memories of Leesburg, VA.  We saw a need to offer a new kind of event and are excited to share this event with you!

 

As of right now, all of our vendor booths and yard sale spaces are sold out! This means that we are bringing to you a packed house of product!  We will have vendors there that have NEVER vended at crops or events in this area. Totally new to you products! The classes will also be amazing, from some of your favorite teachers and professionals in the area.

2016 Dates - One Changed!
Get excited for another fun-filled year!
Last month, we announced the 2016 dates, but after contracts were signed, there was a scheduling conflict and we had to move the September date back one week! As a result, here are our UPDATED 2016 dates:

 

REGISTRATION FOR JANUARY 2016 AND THOSE SIGNING UP FOR ALL FOUR DATES WILL OPEN SEPTEMBER 8TH AT 12:01AM. As usual, we will offer a 10% discount to those that register for all 4 dates and we will offer some payment plans for qualifying registrations. Please note that registration for other dates will not open until 4 months before each date.

The prices for the 2016 crops will remain the same! $250/weekend.
Creating Keepsakes Convention Review
Scrapbooking heaven in Lancaster!
I spent the weekend at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Lancaster, PA. It was a great time and I saw many of you there (which was lovely since its been so long in between crops!) I took some really good classes which will hopefully translate into some new classes for you at the crop in September!

It was a great weekend. While the Vendor Fair seemed smaller than I would have thought, the classes were great and the enthusiasm of the attendees was high! This industry keeps coming up with new and exciting things.

Mark your calendars for next year - it's always at the end of July.

Our September and November crops are sold out. However, they each have very short wait lists. There is a good chance that if you register now, you will clear the lists!

Tee Shirts for Charity
Another way to give back and win prizes!
As you can tell by our website and this newsletter, we recently rebranded. New look, new logo and that means new tee shirts as well! We haven't sold tee shirts since 2011 and now is the perfect time! PLUS, wear it at a crop for the chance to win great prizes and give a little back.
 
We are selling these adorable v-neck tee shirts for $25. All of the proceeds will go to Bethany House, a domestic violence shelter in Northern Virginia. Bethany House was organized to help women and their children who have suffered from domestic violence regain health and dignity and become re-established in their community by providing temporary housing and support.

In 2014, we were able to donate over $600 to Bethany House! 

 

You can choose to have the shirt shipped to you for an additional fee or you can pick it up at any one of our crops. As an added bonus, at each crop, we will have a special prize drawing for anyone caught wearing a Crops Plus shirt over the course of the weekend.
