The Ombré Look

You have probably seen this colors-fade-into-each-other look in about every line out there, you may not be sure how you can incorporate the look throughout your layout, in embellishments, etc.

This is a great article on what ombré means and how you can use some simple watercolor/ink techniques to create the looks.

Although the trend has been around for a while now, it is still one of my favorite looks. And it is just screaming for some summer/beach layouts, am I right? :)

For the July contest, we are heading back to Facebook. Some of you may have noticed that you are not getting messages and updates from Crops Plus. Basically, Facebook wants small businesses to pay them in order for posts to show up on their customers' news feeds. It makes it very difficult to get our information out to you!

However, there is a way to make the posts show up on everyone's news feeds: commenting and sharing! The more people that comment and share, the more people will see the posts.

So our plan for the July contest is this: I will post something on our Facebook page every day this month. For every person that comments, likes or shares the post, they will get one entry into the drawing. At the end of the month, the winner of the drawing will win a $25 gift certificate to Allscrapbooksteals.com

That means if you comment, like and share each post, you will get 90 entries into the drawing! If you don't see the posts in your news feed, you will need to seek us out!

Many of you may have heard that the local scrapbook store, Scrapbooks Plus is closing it's doors after 13 years. Debbie Chabot, the owner, writes:

The entire store is currently 30% off excluding adhesives, kits and already discounted products. They will be open every day of the week from 10-6 Monday-Saturday and 12-6 on Sunday until they close, which is by the end of July.

We will truly miss them in the scrapbooking community.

While we were at the crop in April, we were able to work with the new staff at the Holiday Inn to set our 2015 dates much sooner than we expected! As a result, here are our dates:

You may notice that we have added a 5th, summer, date! Demand is so high for our crops and we have had many people ask for a summer date over the years, so we are going to give it a shot!

As a special 'Thank You' to the croppers who attend each event, we allow them to register for any and all future events. That means that sometimes the crops can sell out before they are open to the public. That happens to be the case for the rest 2014 events! All of them are now sold out.

We are so grateful for the continued support and loyalty. We work very hard to make sure we provide a fun and enjoyable crop. I take your suggestions seriously and hope to give you the best experience I can. So THANK YOU!
