June Scrapbooking Tip
Scrapbooking Traditionally Using Album SystemsIf you have not heard of or seen album systems (divided pocket page protectors and pre-cut/designed cards to slip into the pockets), such as Project Life, Simple Stories Sn@p, We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy; where have you been hiding yourself for the last two years? These album systems are everywhere and some say they are the future of scrapbooking. You can even find the pre-printed 3x4 and 4x6 cards in a lot of 12x12 paper lines or on the back sides of single sheets. So what if you have some of these cards, either as left-overs from a album system kit or they came with a paper line you bought, but you want to incorporate them into a traditional layout? It's possible to mix the two mediums! Below are some great articles and examples on just how to do that. I especially like Debbie Hodge's blog. And while the Daily Digi article focuses on digital scrapbooking, the layout ideas are still totally cute and inspiring! |

Summer Contests
June contest starts today!
Last summer, we started monthly layout contests to win products and gift certificates. It was very popular as people could remain engaged and excited about Crops Plus over those long summer months between crops. This month will start our contests! The first one is an easy one! If you are on Facebook and have been to one of our crops, we invite you to write a review of us on Facebook. In order to do so, click on the links here, like us on Facebook and on the right hand side, there is a place to review and rate. Of the people that rate and review, we will randomly select one person to win a $25 gift certificate to Allscrapbooksteals.com! (My favorite place to shop for scrapbook items at great prices!) ALL ratings and reviews are welcome and eligible to win. You may absolutely love us and can't sing our praises enough - we want to hear it! You may think there are ways we can improve - we want to hear it! We only ask that you have actually attended a crop before you rate. Reviews must be completed by Midnight (EST) on Monday, June 30th. "New" Scrapbook Store
Opening soon!
Previously, we have talked about the ending of an era with the closing and revamping of most of the local, independently operated, scrapbook stores. Scrapdoodles officially closed it's doors last week. We have some good news on the horizon! GoldensHill Papercrafts owner, Ronnie Martinez (many of you know her as the lady who has a store in her basement), is taking her show to a brick and mortar shop! She is just in the process of getting everything organized and settled, but she has signed a lease on a new space in Clifton, VA and hopes to open soon. 2015 Dates Announced!
While we were at the crop in April, we were able to work with the new staff at the Holiday Inn to set our 2015 dates much sooner than we expected! As a result, here are our dates: You may notice that we have added a 5th, summer, date! Demand is so high for our crops and we have had many people ask for a summer date over the years, so we are going to give it a shot! REGISTRATION FOR JANUARY 2015 AND THOSE SIGNING UP FOR ALL FIVE DATES WILL OPEN IN SEPTEMBER 2014. As usual, we will offer a 10% discount to those that register for all 5 dates and offer some payment plans for qualifying registrations. As a special 'Thank You' to the croppers who attend each event, we allow them to register for any and all future events. That means that sometimes the crops can sell out before they are open to the public. That happens to be the case for the rest 2014 events! All of them are now sold out.
