September Scrapbooking Tip
The Chalkboard Look. It's SO hot right now!
Every year, new trends hit the scrapbook market. For 2013, the hot trend is chalkboard. You can find chalkboard cardstocks, patterned papers, stickers, and other embellishments. This trend has been picked up by many of your favorite scrapbooking product manufacturers including We R Memory Keepers, Die Cuts With a View, My Mind's Eye, Teresa Collins, Cosmo Cricket, and more. To get a sneak peek at some of the chalkboard themed products heading to stores this fall continue reading below. Remember that you can click on any picture below to see it full size in greater detail. 1. We R Memory KeepersWe R Memory Keepers has a new line called Chalkboard. It includes 12 patterned, double-sided cardstock, and 6 solid, coordinating textured cardstock. This extensive collection also includes embossed frames, die-cuts, chipboard alphabet, embossed stickers, and journaling cards. The We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy collection named Blackboard also includes journaling cards, cardstock cards, and die-cut cards and envelopes.
2. Teresa Collins Designs
Teresa Collins also has a line that includes the chalkboard look. It is called Memorabilia. It features nine double-sided 12 inch by 12 inch patterned cardstock papers with muted colors combined with the black and white chalkboard look. There is also sheets of coordinating die-cuts, stickers, chipboard, file folders, envelopes, stamps, chipboard buttons, border strips, sequins, enamel dots, photo corners, and so much more.
3. PrimaWhile Prima may be best known for flowers, they also have several paper and embellishment lines. Their line of Chalkboard Cards are perfect for quick scrapbooking or Project Life scrapbooking. They, of course, also have a line of chalkboard paper flowers. These flowers are all black and can be embellished with chalk, watercolor pencils, paints, and more. 4. My Mind's Eye
 My Mind's Eye has a new distinctive black and white chalkboard line called Chalk Studio. It includes nine 12 inch by 12 inch papers that are chalkboard black and white designs on one side and muted colors on the opposite sides with popular chevron, dots, and stripes patterns. Since it is a MME line it also includes decorative frames, layered stickers, twine, chalkboard looking label and decorative stickers, brads, alphabet, and chipboard accessories. It also has a coordinating decorative tape set. 5. Fancy Pants Designs
 Fancy Pants Designs created unique products with the chalkboard look. They have chalk labels and tape. You can use these stickers and tape with any product line. They have four shapes of label stickers that range in size from 2 ¾ inches to 4 inches wide. They also have 3 sizes of chalkboard tape ½ inch, ¾ inch, and 1 inch wide. You can write on both the labels and tape with chalk. These products would be great for home organization and other projects where you might want a label that can be erased and rewritten. 6. Die Cuts With a View
Die Cuts With a View has a new Chalkboard Stack which includes 36 sheets of printed cardstock in six colors inspired by chalkboards. The collection is a group of neutral, solid colored cardstocks that are perfect for use with chalks, watercolor pencils, paints, and more. 7. Cosmo Cricket
 Cosmo Cricket has a new chalkboard holiday line called Chalkboard Cheer. The line includes patterned papers that have jewel-tone backgrounds with hand-drawn, chalk doodles in a variety of popular designs including chevrons, snowflakes, and stripes. The line also includes 18 different designs in both 12 inch by 12 inch and an 8 inch Mini Deck. Chalkboard Cheer also has a coordinated Tiny Text sheet of sticker phrases and titles. September Crop Classes

We are just a few weeks from the September crop and the classes are all set. We will have EIGHT classes at this three day weekend. You will notice that most of your favorite vendors are teaching more than one class, so you will have plenty of chances to make some of their best projects and get some great products. 2014 Venue Change and Dates
Check out the brand new dates!
I have mentioned a few times here in the newsletter, Facebook and on Twitter that I have been trying to work with the Hyatt to secure 2014 dates, which were to be delayed until September. However, as I have been working towards this goal, it has become clear that staying at the Hyatt after January 2014 is no longer an option. It has not been the experience we had been hoping for.
So with that in mind, we will be returning to the Holiday Inn Dulles for the April, September and November 2014 crops. I had not anticipated a change of venue again and recognize the inconvenience. I thank you for your patience.
It is important to me to provide the best experience I can. I have heard from many of you and feel this change is for the best. The Holiday Inn is now offering a program that I think you will enjoy. The great food you know (and LOVE!) that includes coffee during the evening breaks and a more extensive breakfast on Saturday mornings. You will get the larger 6x3 tables with cloth covers, a dedicated classroom (which was not offered before), $74/night room rates, privacy afforded in a venue with one ballroom and all at a lower price point than what was being offered at the Hyatt. I look forward to finishing out 2013 and January 2014 with Hyatt as our hosts. I hope that you can all look forward to the return to the Holiday Inn Dulles as something that is familiar and known.
More good news is that we can, with this change, announce ALL of our 2014 dates ahead of schedule! The rate for 2014 will only be $235/weekend which includes all meals and a gift of product worth $20-$25 just for coming. Not to mention the great vendors and massage therapist, the door prizes and grand prize!

Meet Sarah Mullins!
The newest member of our massage therapy team!
 Due to Dana Middleton's popular demand and the request for a female therapist, we will have the services of an ADDITIONAL therapist at our crops! (Don't worry, Dana will still be there during his regular hours!)
You may know Sarah from Mirella Arroyo's Weekend Memories crops in Leesburg.
She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist that has been working in Northern Virginia for 12 years. She is trained in numerous type of massage including - Sports, Reflexology, Pre and Perinatal, Oncology, Myofascial Release, and Lymphatic Drainage. Sarah specializes in Therapeutic Massage, which is a combination of Swedish and Deep tissue, along with other forms of massage, customized for each individual Clients needs and wants. She is a concierge Massage Therapist who travels all over Northern Virginia and Maryland. Sarah first started working at scrapbooking crops a year and a half ago. She was introduced to crops by her mother who is an avid scrapbooker. Sarah is thrilled to become part of the Crop Plus Team and is looking forward to working with you. Sarah will be at the crops on Fridays from 2 - 8pm and Saturdays from 8am - 1pm To book an appointment with Sarah, the best way is to contact her through text, e-mail, or call.
